Website Visitors

Like most website operators, Subtext collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Subtext’s purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how Subtext’s visitors use its website.

Gathering of Personally-Identifying Information

Certain visitors to Subtext’s websites choose to interact with Subtext in ways that require Subtext to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that Subtext gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. For example, we ask visitors who sign up for an account at getsubtext.com to provide an email address either directly or via logging in using a Google account. Those who engage in transactions with Subtext – by purchasing a paid plan, for example – are asked to provide additional information, including as necessary the personal and financial information required to process those transactions. In each case, Subtext collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with Subtext. Where payments are processed by a third party service this service may collect the personal and financial information required to process those transactions. Subtext does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below.

Aggregated Statistics

Subtext may collect statistics about the behavior of users of its Services. For instance, Subtext may monitor access to your account to identify misuse. However, Subtext does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below.

Subtext discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only to those of its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on Subtext’s behalf or to provide services available at Subtext’s websites, and (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others. Some of those employees, contractors and affiliated organizations may be located outside of your home country; by using Subtext’s websites, you consent to the transfer of such information to them. Subtext will not rent or sell potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information to anyone. Other than to its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations, as described above, Subtext discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only in response to a subpoena, court order or other governmental request, or when Subtext believes in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of Subtext, third parties or the public at large. If you are a registered user of Subtext and have supplied your email address, Subtext may occasionally send you an email to tell you about new features, solicit your feedback, or just keep you up to date with what’s going on with Subtext and our products. We primarily use our product blog to communicate this type of information, so we expect to keep this type of email to a minimum. Subtext takes all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration or destruction of potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies. A cookie is a string of information that a website stores on a visitor’s computer, and that the visitor’s browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns. As a result, only a rough localization is possible.

You can prevent this by setting up your browser so that no cookies are stored. We have accepted a data processing agreement with the provider.

Google Fonts

We use Google Fonts to display text. Google Fonts is built in a way that it has no access to private information like cookies. The request to download a certain font family is sent to a subdomain (fonts.googleapis.com) which ensures that authentication cookies a user potentially has from other Google services are not sent to the server. Nevertheless the user's IP address might be accessible by the font server of Google (Google LLC, United States). Google has stated that they don't collect any personal information while serving Google Fonts.

The relationship with the font provider is based on an adequacy finding under Art. 45 GDPR by the European Commission. Additionally Google is ISO certified (ISO 27001, ISO 27017, ISO 27018) by a third-party and has conducted SOC 2/3 audits.
